George was the Executive Head of Pan-Africa China Banking for Standard Bank Group. ​George’s accountabilities covered Africa Regions, South Africa and Asia. Previously, ​George was an Executive Vice President of the Standard Bank's Investment Banking ​Division responsible for the China Africa Investment Banking Business Development ​strategy.

Prior to Standard Bank, George was a Director in the Corporate Finance Division of ​Standard Chartered based in Johannesburg and London. Formerly a Director in the ​Origination and Client Coverage Group for Standard Chartered’s Wholesale Bank in ​Africa.

Prior to joining Standard Charted, George founded and headed up the East Asia ​Division for First National Bank in South Africa, with an Africa focus.

George left Standard Bank to establish Vumida Holdings and other ventures in 2018.
